Apple iPhone 5C - short phone review and top accessories

iPhone 5C marks a new era in Apple manufacturing since the Cupertino based company created a new premium phone at a more accessible price. Now you shouldn't jump to any conclusions - the iPhone 5C is not a cheap device.

It's not even a competitor for the Android mid-range phone lineup, since its price is higher than Android phones carrying similar specs.

The Apple iPhone 5C is not a cheap phone, even if it was thought before that the "C" stands for cheap.

It is a bit cheaper than the flagship iPhone 5C, which is built into a metal chassis and carries high-end components. The iPhone 5C is built into a polycarbonate chassis.

Apple managed to keep the price relatively low by using polycarbonate instead of metal. The same plastic material was used in the construction of the iPhone 3GS, but since then all iPhones came with aluminum frames.

When held, you won't get the same impression like you would by handling a HTC One.

The plastic exterior comes in a wide array of colors, ranging from: green, yellow, pink, blue and white - these colors are known to have been used for iPods.

This is the first time that Apple actually used a color pallete for their iPhone range. These nuances make the new iPhone seem a bit childish. If you manage to get over its exterior looks, the phone seems rigid enough that it can take a few drops. In fact, due to the metal frame inside the phone's body, the iPhone 5C is a lot more durable than it actually looks.

The internal metal frame also doubles as an antenna, which means it's less likely that you will lose any signal, no matter how you hold the device.

iPhone 5C measures 124.4 x 59.2 x 8.97mm and is less bulky than the device it replaces. You will find the same minimalist buttons used in the 5C, with the Home button being the single navigation button and the power/lock button sitting on top of the device and the volume buttons on the left side. On top of the volume controls there the same small switch which is found pretty much on all current Apple devices.

On the bottom of the phone you'll find the audio jack on the left, in the middle there's the Lightning port and at the right you'll find the phone speaker.

The right side of the phone holds the SIM tray. The new iPhones use nanoSIM cards.

While the screen size is not something special, the Retina display is capable of a 1136x640 pixels resolutions, offering the same quality levels as the iPhone 5 and the iPhone 5S.

The handheld shares a bit more with the iPhone 5 - the same processor, 8 megapixel camera, front 1.9 megapixel camera, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0.

iPhone 5C is compatible with 4G networks so you can browse the web at incredible speeds.

The Apple iPhone 5C is a marvelous phone and since it appeared, a wide array of accessories were created for it. Here are a few:
